Thank you for all the messages, emails, videos, cards (which I haven't got yet but I know some poeple have sent them). I had a brilliant day yesterday, mostly involving food. I went for breakfast with a few others who work for the mission here, at a cafe which does bacon, eggs and pancakes. Alex made me a chocolate cake in the afternoon, and then my landlady María got out her Otovalo tablecloth and the best china, and cooked a meal for me and invited a couple of local friends. I'm glad to say they didn't follow the local custom of pushing my face in the cake.
