New year in Shell and Puyo - they build models of important characters from the past year and write up who they are, and their last will and testament - then burn them at midnight in the middle of the road.
All day the streets are full of men who've borrowed their sisters' clothes (presumably) and block the road until cars pay to go past - sadly no photos of these, although some made quite convincing girls!
It took a while to get used to the fact that the old year is burned just becuase it's over - rather than saying anything about whether it was good or bad.
